E-commerce & Digital Manager - Sydney

Location: Paddington, Sydney
Working Model: Hybrid
Hours of Work: Full Time

Role Overview

Maggie Marilyn is looking for an experienced and commercially minded E-commerce & Digital Manager to take ownership of our digital store and play a key role in the next stage of our online growth.

This is a hands-on role for someone who sees our Shopify website as more than a website; it is one of our most important stores and customer touchpoints, and needs to be thoughtfully traded, optimised and improved every day.

You’ll take ownership of online revenue and digital trading performance, identifying and executing opportunities to grow sales, improve conversion and strengthen the overall performance of our digital channels.

You’ll own the e-commerce experience end-to-end, from how our product and collections are presented and merchandised through to conversion, site performance and the development roadmap. Alongside this, you’ll help drive digital growth across paid media, CRM and SEO.

Working collaboratively across Sales, Brand & Communications, Production & Operations and the wider Maggie Marilyn team, you’ll bring a strong e-commerce and commercial lens to the business and help translate our product, brand and campaign plans into an exceptional digital customer experience.

We’re looking for someone who can see the potential of Maggie Marilyn and where we want to take it, while being equally comfortable getting into all the details and operations to make it happen.

Key Responsibilities

Online Revenue & Digital Trading

Take ownership of the commercial performance of Maggie Marilyn’s digital store, with a clear focus on delivering online revenue growth and supporting the wider commercial objectives of the business.

  • Own and monitor online revenue and key e-commerce performance metrics.
  • Build a strong understanding of what is driving performance across traffic, conversion, AOV, product, market and customer segments.
  • Trade the site proactively against revenue targets, product priorities, inventory and marketing activity.
  • Identify trading opportunities and risks early and recommend clear actions in response.
  • Use data and customer behaviour to identify opportunities to improve conversion and grow revenue.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider team to ensure digital activity supports business, product and sales objectives.
  • Provide regular reporting and translate performance into clear actions and priorities.

E-commerce & Shopify

Take ownership of the Maggie Marilyn Shopify store as if it were your own, understanding how it is performing, identifying opportunities and continually looking for ways to improve the customer experience and grow online revenue.

  • Trade the website day-to-day, ensuring product, collections, navigation, content and merchandising are optimised.
  • Own the online customer journey from landing page through to checkout.
  • Monitor site and trading performance and proactively identify opportunities to improve revenue and conversion.
  • Use customer behaviour and performance data to inform merchandising, UX and CRO decisions.
  • Build and execute a continual conversion-rate optimisation roadmap.
  • Manage website updates, launches, promotions and campaign changes in alignment with the wider business calendar.
  • Manage our external development agency, including briefs, prioritisation, testing and delivery.
  • Identify functionality, technology and site improvements that will support future growth.
  • Ensure the site consistently delivers an elevated and considered digital experience that reflects the Maggie Marilyn brand.

Digital Growth & Paid Media

Help drive profitable digital growth across Meta, Google and TikTok, working collaboratively with internal and external partners.

  • Own the day-to-day relationship with paid media partners and platforms.
  • Translate business, product and revenue priorities into digital acquisition plans.
  • Monitor channel performance, spend, ROAS, CAC and broader commercial outcomes.
  • Identify opportunities across prospecting, retargeting, product and market strategies.
  • Brief creative and asset requirements based on channel and performance needs.
  • Ensure paid media activity is aligned with launches, campaigns, inventory and trading priorities.
  • Continually identify opportunities to improve the efficiency and scalability of digital acquisition.

CRM - Email & SMS

Own the execution and ongoing optimisation of email and SMS as key customer retention and revenue channels.

Campaign direction will be developed collaboratively across the team, with this role responsible for bringing the digital execution to life.

  • Implement, build, QA and schedule email and SMS campaigns.
  • Own and optimise automated lifecycle flows, including welcome, browse and cart abandonment, post-purchase, second purchase, win-back and other customer journeys.
  • Identify opportunities to grow CRM revenue and increase repeat purchases.
  • Develop initiatives to grow the email and SMS subscriber database.
  • Use segmentation and customer behaviour to improve relevance and personalisation.
  • Monitor CRM performance and continually test and optimise flows, messaging, timing and customer journeys.

SEO

Support the continued development of Maggie Marilyn’s organic search performance.

  • Apply strong SEO fundamentals across site content, collections, products and website changes.
  • Identify opportunities to improve organic visibility and traffic.
  • Ensure SEO considerations are incorporated into website and content decisions.
  • In the future, manage the relationship with an external SEO agency, ensuring activity is aligned with broader e-commerce and growth priorities.

Trading, Reporting & Optimisation

This role is ultimately about turning digital activity into commercial results.

You’ll regularly look across Shopify, analytics, CRM and paid media to understand:

What’s happening? Why is it happening? What can we do about it?

You’ll track the metrics that matter - including revenue, conversion rate, AOV, traffic, customer acquisition, retention and channel performance - and turn those insights into clear actions and priorities.

You’ll identify what will have the greatest commercial impact and proactively drive improvements across the digital business.

Key Skills, Experience & Attributes

You’ll likely have several years’ experience in e-commerce or digital roles, ideally within fashion, luxury, retail or another highly considered consumer brand.

More importantly, you’ll be someone who:

  • Is commercially minded and genuinely motivated by growing online sales.
  • Is comfortable being accountable for online revenue and digital trading performance.
  • Understands how to trade a Shopify store and can spot opportunities others might miss.
  • Has a strong understanding of conversion, customer journeys and e-commerce best practice.
  • Is confident working within Shopify and comfortable getting hands-on.
  • Understands paid media across Meta and Google, with TikTok experience advantageous.
  • Understands CRM, lifecycle marketing and automated email/SMS journeys.
  • Has a working knowledge of SEO and its role within e-commerce.
  • Is comfortable interpreting data and turning insights into action.
  • Can confidently manage developers, agencies and external partners.
  • Has exceptional attention to detail and cares deeply about the customer experience.
  • Is a thoughtful and confident communicator with a collaborative working style.
  • Can work autonomously, show initiative and move between strategy and execution.
Is proactive, hands-on and motivated to grow with the business.

The Kind of Person We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone with ownership, curiosity and momentum. Someone who walks into the business and starts seeing opportunities.

Someone who notices that a collection could be merchandised better, that a customer journey has unnecessary friction, that a flow could be working harder, or that an acquisition opportunity hasn’t yet been explored - and then does something about it.

You’ll be comfortable zooming out to understand the bigger growth ambition, then zooming all the way back in to QA a website update, analyse a funnel, brief an agency or optimise a customer journey.

Most importantly, you’ll be excited by the potential of Maggie Marilyn and motivated by the opportunity to help build what comes next.
